7 Days Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Experience an unforgettable romantic escape with our 7 Days Tanzania Honeymoon Safari, designed for couples seeking adventure, privacy, and special moments in Africa’s most beautiful wildlife destinations.

Seven days gives Northern Tanzania the time it deserves.

This private safari brings together three of Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife areas – Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area –  in a journey designed to feel immersive rather than rushed. From Tarangire’s baobab-studded landscapes and elephant country to the open plains of the Serengeti and the dramatic descent into Ngorongoro Crater, each stage of the safari brings a distinctly different landscape and wildlife experience. Tarangire is particularly renowned for its elephants and baobab landscapes, while Ngorongoro supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife within its volcanic setting.

The heart of the journey is the Serengeti, where you’ll spend three nights. Rather than simply passing through, this gives you two full days to explore at a more considered pace, allowing your guide the flexibility to follow wildlife activity and make the most of each day. Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed, but giving the Serengeti more time makes the experience far less hurried.

Throughout the safari, you’ll travel privately in a 4×4 safari vehicle with your own professional guide. There are no shared departures and no fixed group schedule. Your days are shaped around the experience on the ground –  whether that means an early start, spending longer at an exceptional sighting, or simply taking the time to enjoy the landscape.

Accommodation can be tailored across our Midrange, Premium and Luxury collections, allowing the style of the journey to change without compromising the private safari experience at its core.

It’s seven days of Tanzania with enough time to actually experience it, not simply tick off the names on a map.

Safari Highlights

Tarangire National Park

Begin among ancient baobabs, sweeping savannah and some of Tanzania’s most celebrated elephant country.

Serengeti National Park

Three nights and two full days give you meaningful time on the plains, with your private guide adapting each day around wildlife activity and conditions.

NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS

Travel from the Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro highlands, watching the landscape change as you approach one of Northern Tanzania’s most distinctive conservation areas.

NGORONGORO CRATER

Descend into the vast volcanic caldera for your final major game drive, exploring a remarkably wildlife-rich ecosystem that is home to species including lion, buffalo, elephant and black rhino.

Day 1: Arusha → Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, meet your private safari guide and leave Arusha behind as you travel toward Tarangire National Park. As you approach the park, the landscape begins to change into open grasslands, acacia woodland and the ancient baobab trees that give Tarangire much of its character.

Once inside the park, your first game drive begins. Tarangire is particularly known for its elephants, and you may encounter family herds moving through the woodland or gathering around water. The park is also home to giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs and an impressive variety of birdlife, while predators including lions and leopards are also present.

With your own private vehicle and guide, there is no need to rush from one sighting to the next. Take the time to watch, photograph and enjoy your first day in the bush before continuing to your lodge or tented camp for the evening.

After breakfast, depart Tarangire and begin the journey toward Serengeti National Park, travelling through the changing landscapes of Northern Tanzania and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The journey is part of the safari. As you continue toward the Serengeti, the scenery gradually opens into the immense plains that have made this ecosystem one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.

Once inside the park, continue with a game drive en route to your accommodation. Depending on the area, season and wildlife movements, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and wildebeest, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas.

Arrive at your lodge or tented camp later in the day and settle in for your first evening in the Serengeti.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Wake up in the Serengeti with an entire day dedicated to exploring the park.

An early start offers the chance to experience the plains during the cooler hours of the morning, when wildlife can be particularly active. Rather than following a rigid route, your private guide will shape the day around conditions on the ground, recent sightings and wildlife movements.

You might find a pride of lions beginning its day, elephants crossing the plains, giraffes browsing among acacias or cheetahs scanning the open grasslands. And sometimes the best safari moments come from doing very little at all — switching off the engine and simply watching a scene unfold.

Depending on the season and location of the herds, there may also be opportunities to encounter wildebeest and zebra moving through the wider Serengeti ecosystem as part of the Great Migration. Wildlife movements are natural and constantly changing, so particular sightings can never be guaranteed.

After a full day on safari, return to your accommodation for dinner and another night in the Serengeti.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Your second full day in the Serengeti gives you one of the most valuable things you can have on safari: time.

With no need to leave the park today, your guide has the flexibility to explore different areas, follow wildlife activity or return to a particularly interesting location from the previous day.

Every game drive tells a different story. A quiet stretch of plains can suddenly become the setting for a hunt, elephants may emerge from the woodland, or a leopard may appear where moments earlier there seemed to be nothing at all.

There is no checklist to race through. If an exceptional sighting deserves an hour, you have the freedom to stay.

That is exactly why this itinerary includes three nights here. The Serengeti deserves more than a quick introduction.

Return to your lodge or tented camp later in the day for your final evening in the Serengeti.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Enjoy breakfast and a final morning in the Serengeti before beginning your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Leaving the Serengeti does not mean the game viewing is over. Your journey out of the park remains part of the safari, with opportunities for wildlife encounters along the way.

As you continue toward Ngorongoro, the vast plains gradually give way to the higher, greener landscapes surrounding the crater, creating a noticeable change in scenery after several days in the Serengeti.

Continue to your selected accommodation in the Ngorongoro or Karatu area. The remainder of the day offers a quieter change of pace — time to settle in, enjoy the surroundings and prepare for tomorrow’s descent into Ngorongoro Crater.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After an early breakfast, travel toward the crater rim before descending into Ngorongoro Crater for one of the most distinctive game drives of your journey.

The crater floor brings together grasslands, woodland, wetlands and freshwater areas within a remarkable natural setting. These different habitats support an impressive concentration and diversity of wildlife.

During your game drive, you may encounter wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, elephants, hyenas and several antelope species, while lions are also regularly seen. Ngorongoro is additionally one of the areas in Northern Tanzania where there is a possibility of encountering the endangered black rhino, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Spend time exploring different areas of the crater with your private guide, stopping for lunch during the day before ascending the crater walls later in the afternoon.

Return to your lodge for a relaxed final evening on safari

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed start before beginning your journey back toward Arusha.

The drive takes you through the highlands and local communities of Northern Tanzania, offering a final look at the landscapes beyond the national parks. Depending on your onward travel arrangements and interests, you can travel directly to Arusha or include an optional cultural or local experience along the way.

Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be transferred to your hotel or onward to the airport according to your travel plans.

From Tarangire’s baobabs and elephant country to three nights beneath the vast skies of the Serengeti and the wildlife-rich floor of Ngorongoro Crater, seven days gives Northern Tanzania the time it deserves.
